Accessibility In Focus is a joint venture between three students at Brunel University, West London and Reading Room - a leading web design agency based in the United Kingdom.

The purpose of the awards is to get people thinking that accessible design doesn’t have to be dull. We’re planning to achieve this by awarding websites that amongst other criteria look both beautiful and are accessible to their target audiences.

There are four award categories to suit a variety of different styles of websites and their goals, encouraging everyone from small freelance designers to large companies to submit their websites. Each of the awards will be judged by a selection judges who have unrivalled knowledge of design, accessibility, and their commercial advantages.

We’re want to encourage people to make their next web design projects accessible, or perhaps re-factor their current websites to take on the ideas behind accessible web design so they can enter our awards.

Along the way we are proud to have acquired a of amazing judges, whose collective knowlegde in web design andrelated fields is unrivaled. Once the nomination process is over, they've offered to spend their own time to look over the websites and pick out ones that they feel are suited for the related award.

Who can take part?

The awards are open to anyone with a website that fits into one of our award categories. Whether your a freelancer, design agency or company owner you can submit your site for free.

What happens after submission?

Once you have submitted your website it will be passed onto our team to validate the information you have provided. Come 1st August the valid submissions will be passed onto our panel of judges with winners being announced shortly after (date TBA).

What do I win?

By winning one of our awards you will be able to show your clients and visitors that you have taken care with your design to make it accessible allowing you to reach the largest possible market. You’ll also have the gratification of being acknowledged by some of the leading figures in the web design community.
